Four of the six things we make are designed to last for years. Looking after them takes very little, but it does take something.
The Sleep Mask
Spot clean. Warm water, a little mild detergent, a soft cloth, and work gently on the mark rather than the whole mask.
Do not put it in the washing machine and do not put it in a dryer. The contoured shape comes from the fill, and machine washing flattens it. Once that shape is gone it does not come back.
Air dry, flat, away from direct sunlight and away from a heater.
If you travel with it, keep it in the Travel Pouch rather than loose in a bag, where the strap will catch on things and the shape will get crushed under whatever else is in there.
The Sleep Ear Plugs
These are reusable, and the whole thing rests on one habit: let them dry completely before they go back in the case.
Wash them in warm water with a little mild soap. Rinse thoroughly. Then leave them out on a clean surface until they are genuinely dry, not just towel dry. Silicone traps moisture in a closed case, and a damp case is how ear plugs start to smell.
Wash them regularly. Weekly is a reasonable rhythm for nightly use.
Replace them if the silicone loses its shape, becomes tacky, or tears. They are durable but not permanent.
The Travel Tin
A dry cloth is all it needs.
If something spills inside, wipe it out and leave the lid open until it is dry. The hinge is the only moving part, so avoid forcing it open past its natural stop.
The Travel Pouch
Spot clean, the same way as the mask. Warm water, mild detergent, soft cloth, air dry flat.
Corduroy holds its texture well but it does not enjoy being wrung out. Press water out with a towel rather than twisting it.
The consumables
Nasal strips and mouth tape are single use, so care here means storage.
Cool, dry, out of direct sunlight. Keep the pouch sealed between uses. Heat degrades adhesive faster than anything else, so a bedside drawer is ideal and a car is not.
What we cannot tell you yet
Full material composition for the strip and tape adhesives, and the exact fabric and fill of the mask, sit on the product pages as they are confirmed. If you need specifics before then, email hello@slosleep.com.au and we will tell you what we know.
